Decorating for Christmas

Holiday Decor 045
I have been decorating for Christmas around here for weeks now…it’s not because I am being so elaborate…but I literally can get maybe one thing done a day if I am lucky.
Sunday I climbed up the pull-down stairs into the attic (I love older homes...it felt so nostalgic like the movie Christmas Vacation) to go through some Christmas decor boxes to grab just a few more things that I was sorely missing and was able to get our front steps decorated.

This Sunday our neighborhood is setting up all the luminaras down the streets. I bet it will look so magical, all lit up. I can’t wait to see it and hopefully get some good pics to share.

Here are a few more little touches that have made it around the house.
Holiday Decor 051 This is our kitchen centerpiece-I love our kitchen to have a bit of whimsy at Christmas time. Reed is quite proud to have the house he decorated on display. Maybe next year we will do the “real deal” gingerbread house.

I love the sound of jingle bells when a door opens.

Always loved the magic of a snow globe. This one has a little sophistication with the herringbone tweed base. Found it at Target this year.

Holiday Decor 036Another Target find this year. I love these little village houses and it was already under a cloche…even better!

I hope to finish up the rest of the decorating this weekend to share with you and I am almost done with a cute project that you may want to add to your Christmas kitchen, too!
Look for more on that next week.
